Direct mail has become an accepted fact of life for most. Many people simply assume that receiving five times as much junk mail as regular mail is normal. It doesn't have to be this way.
Fed up with the amount of direct mail I was getting, I decided to try and do something about it. Over a four year period, I meticulously responded to every piece of direct mail I got to try and stop it. I learned about what works and what doesn't work. I created this site to share the practical research I have done over the last three years into ways to stop direct mail, and to foster discussion on better solutions to the direct mail problem - personal, legal, and political. With the recent success of the national do-not-call list, it is my hope that a permanent and effective solution can soon be created for direct mail.
